Providing Support for Veterans at Bristol
If you are a United States military Veteran, Active Duty Service Member, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Family Member, the Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center is here to provide you with academic counseling, support and educational benefits certification. To receive Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits, you must be certified by one of our VA School Certifying Officials (SCO). Your eligibility and benefit payments are based on the length of time in service, and the length of the courses, and the number of credits for which you are registered at Bristol.
To be certified, email all required documentation to the Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center, at robin.gallant@bristolcc.edu. Your certification will be processed in a timely manner and sent electronically to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office in Buffalo, NY. The VA will then determine your eligibility. Please note, this usually takes 6 to 8 weeks.
When applying for Financial Aid, keep in mind that any education benefits received, must be reported on your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. If you have specific questions please contact the Education Call Center at 1.888.442.4551 (Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. CST).
