Certificate Programs

Central Sterile Technician

The role of the Central Sterile Technician is to learn and perform all aspects of sterile processing functions with basic surgical instruments in the healthcare workplace.

Certified Nursing Aide

Nurse aides provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff, performing duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients. Being a certified nursing aide, you make yourself more available for employment opportunities in nursing homes, private homes, and hospitals.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Emergency Medical Technicians are the first responders in the world of emergency care and are trained to care for patients at the scene of an accident and to transport them by ambulance to the hospital. The EMT certificate requires students to complete 8 credits: two classes of 4 credits each. Most students can complete their EMT certification in just one semester.

Home Health Aide

Home Health Aides are typically trained on the job by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, experienced aides, or their supervisor. Other training includes basic housekeeping tasks, such as making a bed and keeping the home sanitary for a client, and how to respond to an emergency, including basic safety techniques.

Coding and Reimbursement Specialist

Coding and Reimbursement Specialists are trained to understand and interpret written descriptions of diseases and injuries and to translate them into healthcare codes. The code numbers describe the diagnoses and the procedures performed and are essential for accuracy in medical record keeping and billing. It’s a perfect career choice that puts you in high demand with excellent opportunities for growth in the field.

Personal Care Assistant

Personal Care Assistants assist the elderly or persons with disabilities with daily living activities at the person’s home or in a care facility. PCAs learn skills in infection control, communication skills, activities of daily living, how to provide physical assistance, the safe use of adaptive equipment, healthy skin care and comfort measures, and the importance of ensuring the privacy and dignity of the client.

Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technicians help licensed pharmacists prepare prescription medications, provide customer service, and perform administrative duties within a pharmacy setting. Due to the growing demand for Pharmacy Technicians, certification has become an important issue for many industry employers. The eHealth Pharmacy Tech program also includes an 80-hour practicum with Rite Aid Pharmacies.

Phlebotomists perform routine and special blood collection procedures as well as process the specimens prior to testing in a modern clinical laboratory. The Phlebotomy certificate requires students to complete two classes for a total of seven credits. Students must also perform a three-week, daytime clinical practicum in a CLIA regulated, accredited laboratory. Most students can complete this program in just two semesters.
