Information is changing on a daily basis and the college will be working hard to proactively keep you informed. If there is something we missed or you need more information on, we urge you to 
please send us your questions and we will post the answers on this page. The more informed we are the more confident we will be in our response.

What is remote learning?

In the March 18 update, we announced that Bristol is transitioning to remote learning when classes resume on March 30. What exactly does that mean? Remote learning is not the same thing as taking a typical online class. With remote learning, your instructors will be using a variety of tools to shift lessons and assignments to digital formats. This could include email, Blackboard, Zoom or other tools. Faculty are using the extra time next week to develop these plans and will be in touch with you regarding how they will handle your course. It will vary by course and instructor.

What is happening at my campus?

Effective Monday, April 6, all services will be provided remotely only, via phone, email or virtual at all campus locationsIn addition, all campus buildings, at all locations, will be inaccessible to students, including computer labs, which will no longer be available until further notice.  


Is anyone able to help me with questions during the COVID-19 social distancing time period?

Many campus services are available remotely. We encourage you to reach out to those departments by phone or email. You may leave a voicemail and we will call you back as soon as we can. In some cases, we are also able to hold a virtual meetings by appointment via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. If you need to use one of these options, please contact the department via email so we can arrange an appointment time.

Here’s how you can get the support you need:   

  • The best way to receive assistance is through email.   
  • Use the college directory or the contact directory in Office365 Email (Outlook) to look up individual contact information.
  • You can also use this department directory for department contact information and availability during this time.   
  • Please realize that there may be extended and delayed response times, and we ask for your patience as we work to reply to all communications as quickly as possible. 

Will graduation be postponed?

The college is disappointed to share that we will be postponing our Commencement ceremony, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 30. This decision did not come lightly. Commencement is an important milestone in your journey. We are committed to finding a way to honor our graduates. With all of the uncertainty that this pandemic has caused, at this time, we cannot know how or when, but please know that we will find a way to celebrate your success. You have worked hard and have earned your moment to shine. Please stay tuned for more information. Remember that the deadline to apply to graduate is Monday, April 20, 2020. What is going to happen to student teaching, clinical placements or internships?

Clinicals, internships, service-learning, field work or practica may continue as long as the placement site is able to host you. Unfortunately, many off-site placements are being cancelled.

CED 210/220 Internships and Service-Learning Students: Please contact the Experiential Education Center if you are experiencing this issue so they can best assist you with modifying projects or developing something new.

What if I need technological assistance with email, Office 365 or Bristol Online?

For students experiencing issues with their online learning experience, please fill out the Bristol Online Help Request and we’ll contact you with assistance as soon as possible. You can also contact us by phone (774.357.2081) on the following days: Mondays12 to 6 p.m.  and Wednesdays/Thursdays10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The Tech Team (formerly known as ITS Help Desk) provides user support for students, faculty and staff, and assistance for most technical equipment. Please fill out the ITS Help Form if you have a technology question or need help while learning remotely. 

I’m feeling really stressed out and anxious. What are my options?

There's a lot of information out there and we know it can feel overwhelming. Checking in with someone to make sure that you are staying on the right track might be a good idea.

Can I get help with filing my FAFSA?

The Department of Education has a YouTube channel that is easy to use and can answer many questions. You can check it out here. You can also contact the Office of FInancial aid at financialaid@bristolcc.edu.


Do you have questions about your loans during this time?

Information regarding any type of federal aid is available at StudentAid.gov
