BPI Testing and Recertification
Get in, get BPI certified
Bristol Community College is one of only three organizations in the state of Massachusetts approved to provide testing and certification through the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Offered through the Energy and Sustainability area of BCC’s Workforce & Community Education Center, BPI certification has never been more convenient for workers in the south coast. BCC is currently offering Building Analyst and Envelope Professional certification with training, testing, and ability to schedule recertification testing on an individual basis.
The need for certification
BPI develops standards for energy efficiency retrofit work using an open, transparent, consensus-based process built on sound building science. All crews require a certified Crew Chief on any work site and, in order to get certified, they need to complete a training course and pass the BPI exam. As a BPI testing center, BCC provides training and testing that upholds consistency, fairness, and impartiality to ensure a qualified home performance workforce.
Energy and Sustainability
Trainings in various Energy and Sustainable courses are offered on a regular basis at BCC’s Workforce & Community Education Center. These include Advanced Crew Chief, Mass Save Crew Chief, and Weatherization Installer. Contact Energy & Sustainability at The Center to get training, earn nationally recognized credentials, or become an instructor or proctor for exams.
